Plans are underway to get 110 young Kashechewan evacuees in Sudbury back into class at St. Albert Adult Learning Centre by Wednesday.

Because of flooding on the remote First Nations reserve, which is situated along the James Bay coast, 279 Kashechewan residents have been re-located to Sudbury for the next six to eight weeks.

This past weekend, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board finished cleaning the school for the new students' arrival and brought in new furniture. Teachers will be at school Tuesday, May 9 to prepare the classrooms for the start of school Wednesday.

Students and staff will make use of eight classrooms, one office, a staff room and the gymnasium. The school board is purchasing supplies for staff and students to use.
