Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day at Mini Pow Wow in Bell Park

Hosted by N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre, the event will feature dancers and drummers with the grand entrance starting at 1 p.m.

N'Swakamok Native Friendship Centre is hosting a Mini Pow Wow June 21 at 1 p.m.

In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21, N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre will be hosting a Mini Pow Wow at Bell Park.

Registration will be from 12-12:30 p.m. with the grand entrance beginning at 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets, and are advised that there will be no craft booths or food vendors.

Celebrating the day will be M.C Greg Sutherland and host drum will be Chigiizis, with co-host drum Black Bull Moose. The event will feature Paskwa Lightning as head male dancer, Dana Lewis as head female dancer and Hope Osawamick as youth female dancer. (Youth male yet to be determined.) There will also be a Women’s Traditional special hosted by Lisa Osawamick.
