A fundraiser for seven-year-old local leukemia patient Karissa Kruk is taking place Feb. 23 at Rhythm and Cues on Lasalle Boulevard.

Tickets to the nine-ball tournament, which starts at 6:30 p.m., cost $20 each.

“You don't need to be a pool shark to play,” an email from the event's organizer, Lise Mallette, said in an email. “Nine ball is a very easy game to learn, and you play with a partner.”

Karissa, who is being treated at Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital, recently started her third round of chemotherapy.

“Her numbers were good so she was admitted today and she is on her last treatment,” Mallette said. “Let's pray that this aggressive treatment won't be too hard on her.”

To purchase tickets or donate prizes for the silent auction to be held at the fundraise, contact Malette at 705-560-8321 or [email protected]
