The Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce says it is pleased the Ontario government will not consider putting a toll to pay for the four-laning of Highway 69.

Minister of Northern Development and Mines Rick Bartolucci made the announcement late last week at Queen?s Park.

Bartolucci cited the lack of alternative routes, economic hardship and his government?s attention to the public voice of northerners as reasons for the decision.

We?re delighted to hear this good news,? said Jim Thompson, chair of the chamber?s board of directors.
