Charlie Angus sends out a Labour Day song

Timmins-James Bay MP pays tribute to VALE workers from Port Colborne, Thompson and Sudbury.

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus sent out a Labour Day song today with a video post on his Facebook page.

Angus' post reads:

The only time I ever performed this song was on the picket line at Copper Cliff smelter one year into the brutal VALE strike. I had union workers on one side and company goons on the other. VALE picked the wrong town and they picked the wrong union when they thought they could break the steelworkers.

This is my tribute to the workers at Port Colborne, Thompson and Sudbury. Their fight was one of the great hero fights of the north. I am proud to call USW 6500 my friends. Happy Labour Day.
