Greater Sudbury Airport is advising travellers today to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
The snowy, icy weather across a large swath of the province is causing flight delays and all-out cancellations.
"Please be advised that due to the weather in Toronto and Sudbury, majority of flights have been cancelled. Please check with your airline directly for updates on status," the airport tweeted at around 7:30 a.m.

Not all flights are cancelled, however. On the airport's website (www.flysudbury.ca), most departures to Toronto are cancelled, but flights to Northern Ontario destinations (North Bay, Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie) are delayed as of this report.
Only two arriving flights, both from Toronto and slated to arrive before 10 a.m., are cancelled. Two arrivals from Timmins and North Bay are delayed. Most other arrivals, all scheduled for afternoon, are listed as "on time" as of this morning.
Check the airport website or call your carrier directly to find out the status of your flight if you happen to be travelling today.
