Chelmsford joins the fight against breast cancer

IDA hosts 4-km walk to raise funds in honour of Mother's Day

More than 30 people joined in a four-kilometre walk on May 11 to raise funds for breast cancer research.

The walk was hosted by Chelmsford IDA.

“Every Mother's Day, we try to do something to honour the fight against breast cancer,” said Renata Loyer, the store's front manager. “This year, I wanted to put Chelmsford on the map. We're a small community that often gets forgotten about, and Chelmsford IDA wants to make a difference, so we settled on this, our first annual breast cancer walk.”

Loyer said she was pleased with the turnout.

“Hopefully it grows every year,” she said.

The four-kilometre walk was followed by a charity barbecue in the parking lot.
