Churchill students hike for hospice

Students raised more than $50,000 since 2012; community hike for hospice is Sunday in Bell Park

Churchill Public School kicked off for their fifth RBC Hike for Hospice in support of Maison Vale Hospice on April 29. Students marched from the school to RBC on Lasalle Boulevard.

Since 2012, Churchill Public School has raised more than $50,000 for the Maison Vale Hospice. This year's goal was to raise $13,003, which is $1 more than the previous year.

“We would like to thank all our Churchill community and community partners," said the school's educational assistant, Leslie Chisholm-Paul.

"Without the help of the community, we would not be able to make our Churchill Public School Hikes such a great success.”

The annual RBC Hike for Hospice takes place May 1 starting at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre in Bell Park. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the hike will start at 1 p.m.

Participants can pick up pledge forms at Maison Vale Hospice or any RBC branch in Greater Sudbury.
