A book of condolences for the family and friends of a local soldier killed recently in Afghanistan will soon be available for citizens to sign at Tom Davies Square and Citizen Service Centres.

A release from the city says the book will be available once funeral arrangements have been finalized for Warrant Officer Gaetan Roberge.

The mayor and council have also issued a statement of sympathy to the family and friends of Roberge.

“On behalf of the citizens of Greater Sudbury, we extend our heartfelt condolence to the family and friends of Warrant Officer Gaetan Roberge,” said Mayor Rodriguez, in a release.

“He will be remembered as a great man, one who selflessly put his own life at risk to help make this world a better place for all. Our community and our country feel the loss when the very best and bravest amongst us are taken so tragically.”
