Non-profit and community organizations are eligible for funding through the Transportation Demand Management Community Grant Program.

Grant applications are open to help fund “community-based activities that promote sustainable and active travel,” according to a media release issued by the city.

The grant is a product of Greater Sudbury city council adopting the Transportation Demand Management Plan in June 2018, “which outlines an approach to deliver programs and initiatives to complement transit, walking and cycling infrastructure.”

The grant is one part of the plan, and provides up to $1,000 in funding assistance for community-based activities that promote sustainability and active travel.

Some examples of activities that might qualify include individual or community-based social marketing and travel planning programs, community events, education programs, and promotional and awareness programs.

Applications for the grant program are being accepted from Monday, March 27 to Friday, April 14, 2023.
