The City of Greater Sudbury has been found not guilty on all charges in the death of pedestrian Cecile Paquette. The verdict was issued in a Sudbury court Friday morning.

Paquette was hit by a contractor's grader and killed while crossing Elgin Street in downtown Sudbury Sept. 30, 2015.

The city had been charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The grader operator who hit Paquette at Elgin and Beech streets was an employee of Interpaving Ltd., the contractor hired by the city for a road improvement project in the area where the collision occurred.

In March, Interpaving was fined $195,000 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act after being found guilty of failing to provide a signaller at the construction project.
