The City of Greater Sudbury will launch an OraclePoll telephone survey beginning Dec. 3, as part of the development of a community plan to reduce local energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and impact on the environment.

Residents will be polled on awareness of climate change and willingness to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through individual and collective actions.

Greater Sudbury’s draft Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) is open for review, comment and additional ideas until Dec. 7, at overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca or by visiting local libraries for free access to public computers.

Council has voted unanimously to declare a climate emergency to protect the local economy, ecosystems and community from climate change. Staff has been directed to present a report by year end that describes an adaptation and mitigation plan with input from residents.
