The city is conducting fire flow testing in several industrial areas of the community between July 6 and 9, which may result in discoloured water.

The tests require the opening of fire hydrants in each area for about five minutes. Following those five minutes, residents may experience the discoloured water.

According to a news release from the city of Greater Sudbury, residents who notice the discoloured water should run the cold water faucet nearest their water meter for several minutes until the water runs clear.

Tests are happening on July 6 in the Radisson Industrial Park in Chelmsford and the Fielding Road Industrial area, on July 7 at the Kelly Lake Road area and at Valley East Industrial Park in Val Caron, on July 8 in the area of Lasalle Boulevard and Elisabella Street and near National Street in Garson, and on July 9 at the Coniston Industrial Park.

If residents notice continued discoloured water after running their water, they should contact 3-1-1.
