Collège Boréal tops for grad rate, student and employer satisfaction

KPI results out for Ontario's community colleges

The folks at Collège Boréal are celebrating the college's results in Key Performance Indicators, which were put out by Colleges Ontario recently.

Ontario's 24 community colleges are ranked in areas such as graduate employment rate, satisfaction rates for students, graduates and employers and graduation rate.

In a press release, Collège Boréal said the college holds the top-ranking position in three out of the five areas surveyed. Last year, they were tops in four out of the five areas surveyed.

For the 13th time in 16 years, Collège Boréal received the highest graduate satisfaction rate in the province. For the 16th time in 17 years, Collège Boréal reports the highest graduation rate in Ontario. 

Also, for a second consecutive year, Boréal holds the top-ranking position in student satisfaction. Moreover, with 96 per cent, Boréal ranks third out of all 24 colleges in employer satisfaction.

“With such impressive results, year after year, it is clearer than ever that Collège Boréal is the college of choice in Ontario,” said Collège Boréal president Daniel Giroux, in the press release.

“These latest results testify to the ongoing commitment and dedication of the entire Boréal team and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our teaching personnel, our support staff, our administrative team, and all those who contribute to the college experience of our students.” 

For his part, Cambrian College president Bill Best said he is pleased the majority of the students surveyed indicated high levels of satisfaction and that the results are consistent with provincial satisfaction scores. 

“Cambrian, and the college system as a whole, is focused on helping people to choose and to prepare for satisfying careers, and the KPI data released today supports this,” Best said, in a press release.

Here's a breakdown of local results:

  • Graduate Employment Rate – Provincial average (83 per cent), Collège Boréal (82.1 per cent), Cambrian College (82.0 per cent) 
  • Graduate Satisfaction Rate – Provincial average (78.8 per cent very satisfied) Collège Boréal (87.8 per cent), Cambrian College (79.9 per cent)
  • Employer Satisfaction Rate – Provincial average (91.2 per cent very satisfied), Collège Boréal (96.0 per cent), Cambrian College (85.4 per cent)
  • Student Satisfaction Rate – Provincial average (76.5 per cent very satisfied), Collège Boréal (86.6 per cent), Cambrian College (78.4 per cent)
  • Graduation rate – Provincial average (66.6 per cent), Collège Boréal (75.4 per cent), Cambrian College (64.2 per cent)
