Collège Boréal was the proud recipient of two prestigious Trillium Awards at a ceremony held in Sudbury last week. The college received one award for its 2006-2007 Course Calendar and the other for the series of activities marking its 10th anniversary.

There were lots of smiling faces following an awards ceremony last week when Collège Boréal took home two prestigious awards in recognition of the design of its course calendar and the events leading to its 10th-year anniversary celebration.
The organization of the Trillium Awards is the responsibility of the College Committee for Advancement, which gathers representatives of the departments of marketing, communication, liaison, foundation and alumni of the 24 community colleges of Ontario.

The Trillium Award in the ?Full-time Calendar? category was presented to Collège Boréal for its 2006-2007 program and course calendar. The judges underlined the clean layout that makes it easy to glide through and to find information. The cover of the publication presents photographs of Collège Boréal?
s learners in various college activities or in a mosaic of images representing their trades.

In the Special Event category, the judges recognized the engaging college-wide celebration of a 10th anniversary event. Several activities celebrating this anniversary were: unveiling of the 10th anniversary theme song, the Boreal Challenge, the college-wide staff conference in June, the 10th anniversary
gala with the launch of the souvenir book, the Artist Tour and more recently, the conference on employment and bilingualism.

?For the last couple of years, we paid extra attention to our course calendar in order to create a tool that would better meet the needs of our future learners,? said Claudia-Ann Malette, director of Marketing and Communications at Collège Boréal in a press release.

?Our teamwork was very successful. Also, I am pleased that the hard work of all Collège Boréal?s staff for the celebration of our 10th anniversary is recognized?.

Collège Boréal President Denis Hubert is also delighted by these honours.

?I wish to congratulate all the people that worked in the production of our course calendar. I also want to emphasize the fact that the Special Event Trillium Award is an award for the whole Collège Boréal family. I want to recognize the work of all the college personnel that made the 10th anniversary success possible.?
