Contract talks between college faculty represented by Ontario Public Service Employees' Union (OPSEU) and college management resume today in Toronto, an OPSEU press release said.

Contract talks between college faculty represented by Ontario Public Service Employees' Union (OPSEU) and college management resume today in Toronto, an OPSEU press release said.

The two sides are scheduled to negotiate between March 2 and 6 to avert a province-wide strike set to start on March 7.

A strike in Sudbury would involve 240 faculty at Cambrian College and 110 at College Boreal. Classes would suspended for nearly 6,000 full-time students at the two colleges. Cambrian students would be affected immediately, while College Boreal students would not be significantly affected until they return from March Break on the 13th, the release said.

Across Ontario, 9,100 faculty at the province's 24 colleges could be on the picket lines if a settlement is not reached.

The main disputes are over salary and workload.
