Community helps 'Fill the Bus' at YMCA Strong Kids Breakfast

Businesses, groups help raise money to send local kids to camp

Sudbury YMCA held their annual YMCA Strong Kids Charity Breakfast March 22.

The public enjoyed a delicious breakfast and art auction. This year, community members, groups and businesses were able to help "Fill the Bus" to raise money to send local kids to camp.

All proceeds from the breakfast will go directly to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign which benefits children, families and adults in Greater Sudbury.

The campaign helps people of all ages by providing access and financial assistance to participate in YMCA programs and services. This means giving a family a place to get active with a Health and Fitness membership, helping a child learn to swim, providing a senior with the opportunity to stay fit and socially connected, or providing young people with the chance to experience YMCA camp.

In 2017, YMCA assisted 1 in 4 children along with many families and adults in the area. The fundraising goal for 2018 is $230,000 to continue to support those in need.
