Sudbury's annual Hike For Hospice fundraiser event, sponsored by Sudbury Credit Union, takes place at Bell Park on Sunday, September 25, 2022. It will be the first live and in-person hike in the past two years.

Friends and supporters of the Sudbury Hospice Foundation are invited to make some time on Sunday, Sept. 25 to take part in the Sudbury Credit Union Hike for Hospice.

The annual event will be taking place at the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre at Bell Park in Sudbury. This is to be the first live-in-person hike since 2019 because of pandemic restrictions. Organizers said registration begins at 11 a.m. Sept. 25 and the hike itself will begin at 1 p.m.

The goal for 2022 is to raise $150,000 as the hike continues to raise awareness about hospice palliative care in our community.

“Sudbury Credit Union is pleased to be the sponsor of the Hike for Hospice. As a community-minded financial co-operative, Sudbury Credit Union is committed to the well-being of our employees, our members and our community," said Mimi Regimbal, CEO of Sudbury Credit Union, in a press release.

"We are proud to be a strong supporter of many local organizations and charities, like the Maison McCulloch Hospice, whose important work helps to strengthen our community in many ways," Regimbal added.

She invited all members, employees, directors and the community as a whole to join the hike.

Ashley Bertrand, Director of the Sudbury Hospice Foundation, said she was pleased with the credit union for the generosity and support

"We are truly fortunate to have found such a great community partner. We look forward to welcoming our Hospice families and friends to this wonderful event which will take place rain or shine on September 25,” Bertrand said.

Pledge forms are available for pick up at any Sudbury Credit Union branch, Maison McCulloch Hospice and/or online at www.maisonsudburyhospice.org.
