Dan Newman (far right), Associate Minister of Health and Long-Term Care for Ontario and Greater Sudbury Mayor Jim Gordonare joined by management committee chair and city councillor Louise Portelance and Rita Paquette, president of the Pioneer Manor Resident and Family Committee, to officially launch the construction of a $22 million capital redevelopment project at Pioneer Manor last week. Two tropical trees were planted as symbols of growth in partnership with the Government of Ontario, the City of Greater Sudbury and Pioneer Manor. A Â?Winter ParkÂ? indoor atrium will link the new 188 bed wing with the current facility by the fall of 2004.
