The Copper Cliff Curling Club can proceed with much needed structural repairs this spring thanks to a $67,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci announced today.

“The Copper Cliff Curling Club provides an important service to many community groups in Greater Sudbury,” said Bartolucci. “I am very pleased that this grant will benefit not only those in our community who are passionate about curling, but also all local groups who use the facility.”

"I am sure I speak for all our members, our staff and our executive in stating we are thrilled with the grant being awarded to our club,” said manager Lynn O’Brien. “So much good will come of this, such as new memberships, and an improved curling facility for all to enjoy.  We are most appreciative of the Ontario Trillium Foundation's for its kind support and financial assistance.”

Established in 1949, the Copper Cliff Curling Club is a 7-sheet facility dedicated to promoting the sport of curling in a recreational and inviting atmosphere. It is also used by organizations including the Italian Club, the Caruso Club, the Rotary Club and Lions Club.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, receives funds from the government’s charity casino initiative. The Foundation allocates grants to eligible charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the arts and culture, environment, human and social services and sports recreations sectors.
