Mark Signoretti, who is running for re-election in Ward 1 in the upcoming municipal election, said he will continue to fight for the ward's fair share of infrastructure funds.

“I am stating the obvious when I say that roads, water/wastewater upgrades, sidewalk and curb repairs along with active transportation, playground improvements, and other infrastructure needs are of top concern for my residents,” he said, in a press release.

He said he's been listening to residents over the past four years — not just before the election — and has been fighting for the ward's fair share of infrastructure funds.

“With the wonderful input by the Ward One CAN, and residents, I have lobbied at city hall hard over the last four years for what we need in our part of Greater Sudbury,” Signoretti said.

He said he's learned the fight for “our fair share of dollars” requires vigilance, persistence, and at times, not accepting “no” for an answer.

Signoretti said he made certain that the work budgeted for on Lorne Street, and for other roadways in the ward, were actually done.

“In addition, I consistently fight for non-funded work to be moved to the funded columns of the city’s infrastructure plans,” he said.

“I end by pledging to the residents of Ward 1, regardless of which neighbourhood you reside in, and whether you live or operate a business on a thoroughfare, or dead-end street, I will continue to advocate for our fair share of infrastructure money.”

He said he was given the privilege of working for the Ward 1 residents as their city councillor for four years, and if chosen to represent the area again, he will will continue to vigorously strive to be the strongest possible proponent Ward 1.
