Council race: Ward 11 candidate thanks Lynne Reynolds for her years of service

Ward 11 candidate Derek Young is sending his thanks to Lynne Reynolds for her years of public service as the councillor for Ward 11.

Reynolds was first elected to council in 2003 until 2006 and was re-elected to council in 2014. 

"During her time on council she was instrumental in creating a skateboard park at Carmichael Arena and had all the poured concrete donated, worked with the Community Action Network to establish bike paths, refurbished the Vale Chalet at Adanac Ski Hill and hosted a Winter Carnival at Adanac as well," said Young in a news release.

"Over the last four years Councillor Reynolds has become a good friend and mentor. She had a can-do attitude and believed strongly in the City's motto; Come, Let Us Build Together. She has built a solid foundation to build on and paved the way for a new generation of future councillors."

Ward 11 candidate Derek Young would like to thank Councillor Reynolds for her years of public service serving the people of Greater Sudbury and Northern Ontario.

Councillor Reynolds was first elected to council in 2003 until 2006 and was re-elected to council in 2014. During her time on council she was instrumental in creating a skateboard park at Carmichael Arena and had all the poured concrete donated, worked with the Community Action Network to establish bike paths, refurbished the Vale Chalet at Adanac Ski Hill and hosted a Winter Carnival at Adanac as well. 

Most recently, she was a strong proponent of the Kingsway Entertainment District, welcomed new businesses to ward 11, opened the new Morel Family Park and Splash Pad, was a founding member of the New Sudbury Days Festival and helped to facilitate a new Starbuck's drive-thru coming soon to ward 11 as well as a possible grocery store.

She also had a career in marketing, broadcasting and media and encouraged young women to seek out non-traditional careers.
