Courtemanche hopes to dispel campaign myths

Dave Courtemanche, who is running for re-election as mayor of Greater Sudbury, says it is a myth that there has been little capital investment in the outlying areas of Greater Sudbury.

Dave Courtemanche, who is running for re-election as mayor of Greater Sudbury, says it is a myth that there has been little capital investment in the outlying areas of Greater Sudbury.

Courtemanche will be issuing press releases in the days leading up to the election to dispel “myths that have been perpetuated throughout the campaign.”

He says outlying areas have seen substantial new investments including, but not limited to, $31.8 million in road work, $6 million for a new Emergency Services Centre in Azilda and four new soccer fields in Val Caron.

“As is the case with any new governance structure, issues are identified as they emerge. The prevailing wisdom is that we can't turn back but rather, we have to make the new City of Greater Sudbury work. I am deeply committed to doing just that."
