There has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 reported in the St. Albert Adult Learning Centre’s personal support worker program.

St. Albert is run by the Sudbury Catholic District School Board.

A letter posted to the board’s website Jan. 19 said the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 is currently self-isolating and being monitored by Public Health Sudbury & Districts while the investigation continues.

The provincial government website reporting COVID-19 cases in schools and daycares said the St. Albert case is a student.

The board said the situation is considered low risk by Public Health Sudbury & Districts.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts is working closely with the school to manage the case.

They will directly contact students and school personnel who have been identified as close contacts. If you are not called by Public Health Sudbury & Districts, you’re advised to follow the general advice in the letter posted to the school board’s website.

As this situation is under active investigation, students are advised to check the board’s website at www.sudburycatholicschools.ca for updated information, and should you have

any questions regarding this information, contact St. Albert principal Megan Murphy.
