Sudbury Catholic District School Board is reporting there has been a case of COVID-19 at St. Charles College.

One class has been "closed" according to a COVID-19 chart provided on the board's website, although the school remains open. An outbreak has not been declared at the school.

No further information about the St. Charles COVID case has currently been provided by the board.

This is the third COVID-19 case reported by a local educational institution, just a week into the new school year.

R.L. Beattie Public School reported a student tested positive for COVID-19 Monday, as did Laurentian University.

The provincial government school COVID-19 reporting page also said today there was a student at École publique Hanmer who had tested positive. However, a spokesperson for Conseil scolaire publique du Grand Nord de l'Ontario said this is an error, and there are actually no cases at that school.
