Hwy 144 reopened overnight in Chelmsford following crash

Police say the roadway was closed for under three hours

All lanes of Highway 144 in Chelmsford have reopened following a crash May 19.

Police still have released no details about the incident. 511 Ontario posted to X (formerly Twitter) just after 5:30 p.m. May 19. 

The incident closed the road between Regional Road 15/Regional Road 35 and Bishop Road in Chelmsford from around 5:30 p.m. on May 19 to just after midnight today. Although the notice of reopening wasn't posted by OPP or 511 Ontario until around midnight May 20, police said Monday the roadway was closed for under three hours.

According to an unconfirmed post on the 11,000-member Hwy 144 Chelmsford To Timmins Facebook group page, the accident involves a motorcycle and a car.
