Sudbury Green Party candidate Bill Crumplin says the best way to send a message to Ottawa about climate change is to vote Green on Monday.

He brought up Liberal leader Justin Trudeau's failure to bring in proportional representation, which would have benefited the Greens.

“Because of that, some people I’ve met ask me how they should vote to send a climate action message to Ottawa,” Crumplin said, in a press release.

“What you can do is vote in a way that will send a clear signal to the winner in Ottawa that you want real action on climate change. You can do that by voting for the Green Party.”

Voting for the Greens also ensure the party is eligible to be reimbursed for some of its election expenses, which allows the party to continue to fight climate change in between elections, Crumplin said.

Send an important message to Ottawa

“The only way to send a clear signal about climate action to Ottawa is to vote Green in this election,” says Green candidate Crumplin, “A vote for anyone else is wasted.”

“We don’t have proportional representation in Canada, thanks to a broken promise from Mr. Trudeau.  Because of that,” says Crumplin, “some people I’ve met ask me how they should vote to send a climate action message to Ottawa.”

“What you can do,” says Crumplin, “is vote in a way that will send a clear signal to the winner in Ottawa that you want real action on climate change. You can do that by voting for the Green Party.”

And your message can be a long lasting one by voting Green. According to Elections Canada, if a candidate is elected in Canada, or receives at least 10% of the valid votes cast, he/she will receive an election expense reimbursement of 60% of their legitimate election expenses.

“This is critical if you want to help the Green party fight for climate action between elections.”

“So, send a message: vote for the party whose policies best fit your vision,” says Crumplin, “and I hope that will be the Green Party and me, if you live in Sudbury, or Cassey Lalonde, if you live in Nickel Belt.”
