Greater Sudbury and the surrounding has been issued a special weather statement by Environment Canada, with an estimated 20-40 mm of rainfall until late Monday.

Periods of rain expected throughout Sunday, amounting to approximately 15 mm.

Risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon, and heavy rainfall expected in areas which receive the storm.

Strong northeast 20 km/h winds, gusting to 40 km/h in the afternoon, bringing a chill to the high of 10.

Rain and a risk of thunderstorms should carry into this evening, with fog patches developing as the night progresses.

Winds will also carry into the evening but should settle at 20 km/h overnight, adding a bitter edge to the low of 6.
