A benefit concert in memory of a child who passed away from cancer takes place from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 6 at Mine Mill Camp off of Highway 69.

Breanna's Benefit Concert in Support of Kids with Cancer includes performances by The Bluez Brotherz Showband and Revue, CDK, Wolves in Red, Suttle Society, Grav!tas, Desolate State, Sidecar Wildly and the Mojo Kings, Celine Tellier Band, Unfinished Business and Nickel City Road Crew.

It also includes kids activities until 5 p.m., a late-night pig roast ($5 a plate), raffles, silent auction and a 50/50 draw.

Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children aged six to 16. Admission is free for children aged five and under. Dinner is included with a ticket purchase.

The event raises money for the Breanna Baxter Fund at the Northern Cancer Foundation.

The fund, which helps families who want to keep a child with cancer at home cover medical expenses, was set up in memory of nine-year-old Breanna Baxter, who died in 2009 from spinal cancer that had spread to her brain.
