Northern Credit Union employees have signed a new three-year deal, thus avoiding strike action.

The members of the Office and Professional Employees International Unit, Local 26, agreed to the terms of a new contract Wednesday.

?We?re delighted our 25-year partnership with our unionized employees will continue without any disruption of service for our members,? said Al Suraci, president and CEO of Northern Credit Union, in a press release.

?This new three-year agreement with our unionized employees, together with solid results for Northern in 2003, makes a strong foundation to move forward with confidence as sales and servicer partners.?

The deal means there won?t be any strike action for 150 unionized employees.

?I think everyone is happy this hurdle is now behind us,? said union president Karen VanLandeghem.

?Good people with the right support from one another, working together, can achieve great things.?
