The community is invited to a planting and accessibility awareness event June 3 at the Delki Dozzi Community Garden, located at 3 Mary Street in Gatchell.

In addition to volunteers who will be planting, there will be a tour of the newly-designed accessible community garden and an award presented to Canada Post to recognize their donation to eight community gardens in Sudbury.

At 10 a.m. community members and volunteers will kick off the gardening season with the newly designed garden beds.

Then, at 11 a.m. core members of L’Arche Sudbury will be planting in the accessible garden beds, built and donated by Canada Post.

The garden tour will begin at 11:10 a.m. Canada Post will receive the award at 11:30 a.m. and then Ward 1 Coun. Mark Signorietti will say a few words to the crowd.
