Back in June, participants in the Miner's Mayhem race got muddy crawling through an obstacle course at Adanac. There's another chance to get dirty at the ski hill Aug. 16 at the city's first annual Dirty Divas Mud Run. File photo.
The city's first Dirty Divas Mud Run in support of the Canadian Cancer Society will take place at Adanac Ski Hill Aug. 16.

Women of all ages and fitness levels can “run, walk or skip” through the five- or 10-kilometre obstacle courses, a press release said. The mud run is not timed and is about the journey to the finish.

“The important part is to have fun and get dirty while raising funds to support leading-edge women's cancer research — ovarian, uterine, cervical and breast,” the press release said.

“There are many cancers that affect women,” said cancer society Sudbury branch manager Cathy Burns, in a press release.

“What an empowering opportunity to get your girlfriends together to make a difference and have some fun getting dirty. I hope to see many women of all ages and fitness levels joining us on the hill.”

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, visit www.cancer.ca/dirtydivas.
