We all have the potential to improve the quality of life in our community – to make Sudbury a better place. That is the message behind Sudbury.com's Acts of Kindness initiative.

And that message has never meant so much than it does right now.

Our city, the province and the world have changed significantly in recent months.

Residents were advised to practice social distancing which saw the closure of all schools and daycares last week. Local businesses closed their doors to ensure the safety of their customers and staff. We've seen shortages of toilet paper, hand sanitizer and masks for our front line health-care workers providers.

But amongst all this uncertainty, we are hearing stories of Sudburians who are going out of their way to share kindness in our community.

Stories like the anonymous heroes who dropped groceries off at the doorstep of a family who is in self-isolation.

Local photographers who spent the day taking portraits of families on their porches free of charge.

Kindness is contagious – it has a ripple effect. We know that by sharing stories of acts of kindness it can inspire others to perform their own.

So if you received an act of kindness, big or small – we want to hear about it!

Do you know a quiet hero that is going out of their way to deliver happiness to his or her neighbours? Tell us about them!

Share your act of kindness story and photos in the comments below or email them to [email protected].

Together we can create some good news in our community.
