A group of NHL players will be coming to Greater Sudbury to take on the hardworking medical team at Health Sciences North in a battle on the ice this summer.

The Vale presents: NHL vs Docs for NEO Kids game will take place on Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Arena. Tickets are $22 with proceeds going towards the NEO Kids Foundation.

Guests will be able to see NHL players such as Nick Foligno, Marcus Foligno, Derek MacKenzie, Zack Stortini, Dalton Prout, Boone Jenner, Josh Anderson, Scott Harington and Zach Werenski go against the health care team at HSN in an exciting, winner takes all match up.

Come early and enjoy a barbeque and games before the event beginning at 5 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Stay after the game for the opportunity to get an autograph from their favourite player.

Purchase your tickets by Aug. 5 for your chance to win Nick Foligno’s NHL vs Docs signed jersey from last year and a VIP meet and greet for two people before the autograph session with all the participating professional players. One lucky seat holder will be selected by draw and announced on NEO Kids Foundations Facebook page.

“The NHL vs Docs event is a great way to create a sense of togetherness and pride within our community,” said Mick Weaver, Chair of the NEO Kids Foundation Board of Directors.

“It is a way to bring families together, which is what NEO Kids and the foundation strives for.”

Nick Foligno, captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets and Honorary Chair on the Board of Directors, believes that the event will attract awareness for NEO Kids and its mission.

“A lot of the players participating are either from Greater Sudbury or have ties here,” said Foligno.

“The event allows us to give back to the community, have a great night of hockey and support a terrific cause. This year, I am bringing a few players from my team. I am happy to bring them to my hometown of Sudbury to show them what a wonderful community it is.”

Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.greatersudbury.ca/tickets or in the box office at 240 Elgin Street.
