A scheduled power outage will affect several areas along the Manitoulin operations centre.
A downed line caused a brief power outage this morning for most of downtown and part of New Sudbury, said Greater Sudbury Utilities in a news release.

A 44KV power line let go in the bush area between Adanac Ski Hill and Notre Dame Avenue at about 7 a.m., cutting power to just over 4,500 Greater Sudbury Hydro customers. The power supply was rerouted, and power fully restored to all customers within 16 minutes.

“Since the fallen line is well away from any streets or roads, trucks cannot be used to access the site,” said Wendy Watson, communications officer for Greater Sudbury Utilities. “Our crews are hiking into the area, and will climb the poles to effect repairs.

“We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank all of our customers for their understanding.”
