The Canadian Mental Health Association Subury/Manitoulin branch and members of the Spotlight Dance Company pit smiles on people’s faces in downtown Sudbury Sunday afternoon with a flash mob performance to celebrate World Kindness Day.
The performance outside the Rainbow Centre was the third time Sudbury’s Canadian Mental Health Association branch decided to celebrate world kindness day with a surprise performance.
“We see the ties between kindness and wellness in regards to mental health,” said Krista MacDonald, health promotion co-ordinator with the branch.
Life Vest Inside, a grassroots non-profit organization, started the World Kindness Day celebrations, which are now recognized worldwide.
“To some, the world is filled with war, hatred, violence and hopelessness but we firmly believe that we have the power to fill this world with kindness, trust, hope and love,” said Orly Wahba, the founder of Life Vest Inside, in a press release.
