Downtown Sudbury snow removal begins Sunday

City crews are getting ready to begin snow removal in downtown Sudbury in order to widen traffic lanes and improve access.

The work will be done from Sunday, Jan. 26 to Friday, Jan. 31, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day, weather permitting.

The work has been scheduled to cause the least amount of inconvenience for downtown businesses and customers.

The schedule is as follows:

Sunday, Jan. 26 and Monday, Jan. 27

  • Elm Street from Paris Street to Frood Road
  • Durham Street from Elgin Street to Beech Street

Tuesday, Jan. 28

  • Elm Street from Frood Road to Paris Street
  • Durham Street from Elgin Street to Beech Street
  • Beech Street from Durham Street to Frood Road 

Wednesday, Jan. 29

  • Elgin Street from Ste Anne Road to Elm Street
  • Larch Street from Elgin Street to Paris Street
  • Young Street from Larch Street to Cedar Street
  • Cedar Street from Paris Street to Elgin Street

Thursday, Jan. 30

  • Elgin Street from Elm Street to Minto Street
  • Minto Street from Elgin Street to Larch Street

Friday, Jan. 31

  • Notre Dame Road from Ste Anne Road to Elm Street
  • Paris Street from Boland Avenue to Ste Anne Street
  • Brady Street from Paris Street to Broadway Street
