In late September, local cleaning company Dr. Clean Inc. held a charity car wash in the Best Buy parking lot on Marcus Drive in support of the Sudbury Charities Foundation.

In just four hours, event volunteers cleaned more than 50 cars and raised $5,000 through corporate sponsorships, ticket sales, and donations.

“It was great to see our staff work together to give back to such an amazing cause,” said Dustin Bradley, co-owner of Dr. Clean. “It means a lot to us to see the community come together to support underprivileged children in Sudbury.”

The Sudbury Charities Foundation was the recipient of the funds raised at the Dr. Clean Charity Car Wash. The SCF disperses up to $100,000 annually to underprivileged children in the Greater City of Sudbury.

With the funds raised at the charity car wash, the Sudbury Charities Foundation was able to support "Healthy Foods for Kids," an initiative run by Our Children, Our Future.

“An investment in nutritious food can be the first step towards a stronger and healthier community,” said Susan Nicholson, executive director, Our Children, Our Future.

“As a leader in our Business Community, Dr. Clean has raised much-needed funds in support of our Healthy Food for Kids Initiative. This kind and meaningful gift will provide urgent supports of infant formula and diapers, milk and eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables to those in need. These funds will also support our Food Security Programs such as food education/training in the kitchen to enhance cooking skills.”
