There's no doubt rural and remote communities in Ontario have specific needs that differ markedly from the needs of larger population centres.

The public is invited to a community meeting hosted by Granville Anderson, MPP for Durham, in Warren on May 24 to discuss and share ideas about how to best address the unique needs and challenges that rural and remote communities face.

In a news release, the MPP said the discussion will focus on:

  • Strategies to support and improve student achievement in rural Ontario;
  • Strategies to leverage schools and school board resources for the broader benefit of rural communities; and
  • How education funding could better recognize the realities of rural Ontario.

The meeting is set for May 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Warren Golden Age Club Hall in Warren.

Light refreshments will be served. No registration is required.
