Eat at McDonalds and support Finlandia's efforts to boost seniors' fitness

The Finlandia SISU Charitable Foundation is teaming up with local McDonald's restaurants to help improves seniors' health in Sudbury.

On Friday and Saturday, Leigh and Brian Gainer, and their teams at participating McDonald’s restaurants, will host SISU Days ahead of the first annual Sling-Choker SISU Family Walk, which will be held on the grounds of Finlandia Village on Sept. 24.

The Gainers invite the community to join in and show their SISU by making a donation or picking up a pledge form to participate. 
Volunteers will be available to share information about the upcoming event, which will raise funds to support the for seniors only fitness and wellness centre located at Finlandia Village.

The Fitness and Wellness Centre at Finlandia Village offers a spacious, warm and inclusive workout environment for seniors, and includes a padded floor for low impact on joints and HUR hydraulic exercise equipment.

The facility also features an indoor heated pool, his and hers large sauna rooms and change rooms and is fully accessible to all seniors, regardless of mobility.

“The gym at Finlandia Village is a unique space that has been designed with seniors in mind. We are pleased to do our part to help Sudbury seniors,” Leigh Gainer said in a press release. “Our customers span many generations, and gathering family and friends to walk together is a good thing. We have experienced first-hand the impact Finlandia Village is having on the quality of life for seniors. It is important for us to do whatever we can to help.”
