Sudbury.com is recognizing Lorraine Belanger as today's Essential Worker of the Day.

Belanger was nominated by railroad worker Marc Robert, who was recognized as the Essential Worker of the Day on April 23.

"Since I was nominated, I would like to nominate someone who actually deserves it," Robert said.

"(Belanger) has been a paramedic for 20 years. She’s continuing to save lives and help people while putting others health and wellbeing first."

"She is a true hero."
