An accomplished gerontologist and university professor from the Netherlands is giving a talk in Sudbury Oct. 26 on his country's approach to aging.

“The Netherlands is currently ranked #6 in the Global AgeWatch 2015 report,” said an email about the talk.

“The strength and expertise of a new generation of older adults is a new source for maintaining the success. This changed demographic requires the development of new perspectives that are reflective of the change.

“Older adults should be perceived and act as active stakeholders in their life and within the community as a whole. As important stakeholders, they bear a responsibility in articulating, designing and implementing social innovations, services and products.

The presentation takes place starting at 7 p.m. in Huntington University's Social Centre.

Admission is free, but people are asked to register in advance here.
