Skot?s primary role will be to develop an integrated cancer program for northeastern Ontario. The first phase will see the development of a joint oncology program between the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre (NEORCC) and its host hospital.

The second phase will focus on integrating the satellite cancer care operations throughout northeastern Ontario.

Skot will assume her new duties July 1.

?I am looking forward to working with medical staff, employees and volunteers of both organizations in the development of an integrated oncology program,? said Skot.

Dr. Randy Bissett, is stepping down as NEORCC CEO in July and plans to resume his a career as a practising radiation oncologist.

Fighting drunk driving
Action Sudbury, Sudbury Trail Officers Patrol (STOP) and the Ontario Community Council on Impaired Driving (OCCID) will join together Saturday, May 25 to participate in the annual Arrive Alive Bottle Drive.

This is the third year STOP and Action Sudbury, Sudbury?s anti-drinking and driving organization, have organized this event.

Members of Action Sudbury and STOP will collect donated beer bottles at various Sudbury and area Beer Stores. The Beer Store have partnered up with OCCID to promote Ontario?s anti-drinking and driving message. For more information, contact Ron Roy at 524-1453.

Car Wash Day
Different local charities and community organizations will be participating in the third annual Armor All National Car Wash Day by hosting fundraising car washes througout the city this Saturday.

Organizations taking part this year and the location of their respective fundraising car wash include:

* Panhellenic Just Soccer (soccer trips) in the Just Soccer parking lot at 1775 Lasalle Blvd.

* Panhellenic Soccer Club (uniforms) at Lockerby Confectionery at 1513 Paris St.

* Sudbury Action Centre for Youth (summer trip) at Brier?s Store 4764-17 RR #15.

* N?Swakamok Alternative School (graduation ceremony) at the N?Swakamok Native Friendship Centre parking lot at 110 Elm St.

* Sudbury Secondary School (athletic council) in the school parking lot at 85 MacKenzie St.

* Costco Wholesale (Heart and Soul foundation) in the store?s parking lot at 1465 The Kingsway.

* Panhellenic Strikers soccer team (equipment purchases) in the Super C grocery store parking lot at 1875 Regent St.

* Sampo Rhythmic Gymnastics Club (trip to Portugal) in the Sears auto department parking lot at 1349 Lasalle Blvd.

* Sudbury SPCA in the SPCA parking lot at 760 Notre Dame Ave.
