The Lions Eye in the Sky caught a great deal of
public intoxication during the month of December.
Half of the incidents reported during the month
involved checking out and dealing with people with a bit too much
Christmas cheer floating through their blood. For example:
? On Dec. 1, an intoxicated man on Elm
Street was escorted home.
? On Dec. 3, an intoxicated barefoot
woman on Elgin Street was arrested on Dec. 3.
? On Dec. 7, a disturbance on Brady
Street resulted in the arrest of a man for public
intoxication.
? On Dec. 17, three people entered the
Royal Bank lobby who appeared to be concealing something. As they
left the building, one man fell and an ambulance was sent to attend
to him. The other two men left before police arrived. All three had
been drinking.
? On Dec. 18, the camera provided backup
for an officer on patrol who was dealing with another intoxicated
man.
? On Dec. 28, a drunk male laying on the
sidewalk on Elgin Street was arrested.
? On Dec. 31, the camera rolled as
police arrested an intoxicated man at the Sudbury Transit
building.
Aside from the intoxicated people roaming the
streets, the camera observed a traffic accident, an unconscious
person at the Bank of Montreal, a gathering of people in the
Ukrainian Park, a panhandler, a person with a
?squeegee? interfering with traffic, and a person
selling items illegally in front of the Rainbow Outlet mall.
