Film productions will impact traffic in a couple locations this week

Greater Sudbury put out a notice regarding streets that will be impacted by film productions this week from Thursday through Saturday.

From Oct. 29 to Oct. 31, there will be no through access on Elm Street between Lorne and Ethelbert Streets from Thursday at 4 p.m. until Friday at 7 a.m. Detours are posted, the city said.

Access to Highway 144 will remain open from the Ethelbert intersection. Beatty Street, Hartman Avenue, Alder and Eyre Streets will also have temporary road closures. Local traffic is permitted.

GOVA Routes 25 West End Local, 26 McKim Local and 104 Azilda/Chelmsford will follow regular routing. Passengers should expect delays.

As well, there will be no through traffic on Van Horne Street between Lourdes and Minto Streets from 6 p.m. on Friday until Saturday at 10 a.m.

Motorists should expect intermittent traffic disruptions at the intersection of Van Horne and Paris Streets as well as on Elgin Street between Shaughnessy and Minto Streets.

Film activities include controlled special effects, costumed cast and props.

Road closures will not affect response by fire, ambulance and police emergency services, the city said. Traffic control officers will be on-site.
