Hideaway Pictures and The Northern Ontario Film Studios begins production on For Love and Honor, filming in Sudbury and North Bay in the month of May.

The film company has already undertaken a beautification project involving École Secondaire Macdonald-Cartier.

As part of the process of filming at the school, the production has removed graffiti from the school’s athletics field, returning it to a natural state and highlighting the beauty of the Canadian shield that surrounds the field.

This is but one of many ways the film industry has positively impacted Sudbury and to a larger extent Northern Ontario.

In 2015, Hideaway Pictures and The Northern Ontario Film Studios were involved in 15 of the 16 productions to shoot in the Sudbury area, creating 700 high-paying jobs and bringing $30.5 million into the community.

The film business represents a huge growth potential not only for those directly involved but also for those small business owners who have been very vocal that this trend needs to continue.
