?I could have easily shot it here in Montreal,? he explained. ?But when your first starting out you?re really depending on support from people you know. In Sudbury people are more willing to go to bat for you.?

Some of those people who are ?going to bat? for Pitblado are at Music and Film in Motion, a non-profit organization that fosters and promotes the development of music and film in Sudbury and northern Ontario.

Pitblado grew up in Sudbury, acted in three productions at the Sudbury Theatre Centre and attended Laurentian University. He then moved to Montreal to attend film school.

?I miss the community feeling in Sudbury,? Pitblado explained.

He credits his interest in film to Cinefest.

?Cinefest started in Sudbury when I was about 17 and I went every year.? he said. ?It was the first time I was exposed to Canadian and international films, as opposed to the Hollywood films we had all the time.?
