Updated: Fire at Azilda Caisse Populaire results in $400K in damages

Fire has been brought under control, crews still on site

A fire at Caisse Populaire in Azilda Monday afternoon resulted in an estimated $400,000 in damages to the financial institution, according to Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

The fire was caused by contractors working on the outside of the building with torches.

Crews from Azilda, Chelmsford and Sudbury fought the fire for several hours.
