Updated: Eight people displaced after Chelmsford duplex fire

Estimated loss tabulated at around $350K

Two people had to be evacuated and eight people were displaced from their home after a duplex fire on Highway 144 in Chelmsford late Tuesday afternoon.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services were called out to the fire just after 5 p.m. May 9. The estimated loss is tabulated at around $350,000.

Nobody was injured in the blaze.

Social media reports from two city radio stations indicate there is a house fire on Highway 144 in Chelmsford, near the Dairy Queen.
