Five derail Express in dominant fashion on Friday

Sudbury put up big numbers against Windsor in 118-84 victory

The Sudbury Five came out looking to assert themselves on both ends of the court on Friday night taking on the Windsor Express in Windsor, and that is just what they did, defeating the Windsor Express by a score of 118-84. 

Everything was clicking for Sudbury right from the outset, with the Five scoring 39 points in the first quarter alone while holding the Express to just 23 points of their own. 

With solid outings from scoring leaders Charlie Marquardt and Ja’myrin Jackson, who had 35 and 32 points in the game respectively, Sudbury had a huge 25 point lead by a score of 62-47 heading into the dressing room at halftime. 

Sudbury continued their dominating play in the third quarter and with big nights from Tevin Glass and Diego Bernard with 27 and 22 points respectively, the Five had a sizable 101-65 lead with one quarter left to play in the game. 

The fourth quarter was closer than the previous three, but on this night the Sudbury Five won in dominating fashion by a score of 118-84 for their second consecutive victory on the road. 

With the victory, the Sudbury Five now hold a record of three wins and one loss on the season. 

The Sudbury Five head to Newfoundland for a pair of games against the Newfoundland Rogues, first on Friday, Dec. 13, with a scheduled start time of 5:30 p.m. followed by the second game against the Newfoundland Rogues on Saturday, Dec. 14, with tip off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
